Director of Development (3262)

With two positions available, and responsible for planning and implementing an integrated approach to development that maximizes philanthropic support with all donor constituencies in a geographic region of the US, specifically the northeast or the southeast, the Director of Development reports to the Executive Director of Development for the regional major gift program. This position has overall responsibility for the major gift fundraising efforts within the region. Specific responsibilities include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donor prospects capable of gifts at the $100K to $4.9M level. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial quick starter with a demonstrated track record of securing major gift commitments and has a proven ability to refine and actualize campaign priorities in conjunction with key academic partners and administration.

Staff Assistant (Alumni Relations) (3346)

The Staff Assistant (Alumni Relations) provides overall administrative support for a group of alumni relations professionals at Rice University. Typical duties include managing calendars, collecting data and producing periodic reports, assisting with data entry, arranging for travel and business meetings and managing expense reports. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks and providing office administration support for multiple professionals and should have demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills as well as attention to detail, especially regarding data management.

Gift Planning Specialist (3350)

The Gift Planning Specialist is responsible for the administrative operations of the Gift Planning team in the Development and Alumni Relations Division. Typical duties include, but are not limited to: managing the day-to-day functions of the Gift Planning team; donor communication; producing reports and managing data within OwlConnect, Rice University’s advancement system; managing multiple individual travel and program expenses and budgets; setting up meetings and managing multiple directors’ calendars; overseeing gift processing for the entire team; and acting as operations liaison for the team with other teams in Development and Alumni Relations, including the events, gift processing, and marketing/communications teams. The ideal candidate must be extremely organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment, and should also have demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

Staff Assistant (Corporate and Foundation Relations)

The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (OCFR) manages all corporate and foundation partnerships on behalf of Rice University, directing strategy for stewarding and expanding existing partnerships while identifying and pursuing new opportunities. The staff assistant works with the department coordinators to provide overall administrative support for the team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter, who is tech savvy, comfortable talking to people, and able to function independently in a fast-paced work environment.
