Constituent Relations Officer

Reporting to the Director of Constituent Relations, the Constituent Relations Officer is a member of the Constituent Relations team in the Development and Alumni Relations Division that recognizes and stewards donors for their generosity and philanthropy to Rice University. The Constituent Relations Officer implements thoughtful strategies for stewarding gifts to the university, with special emphasis on major gift donors, and is able to collaborate with key stakeholders to accomplish this goal. The Constituent Relations Officer coordinates stewardship experiences for donors and strategic prospects, including but not limited to, creating impact reports for capital, endowment, and restricted current‐use gifts; coordinating donor engagement meetings or events; and/or designing strategic giving society experiences. The Constituent Relations Officer also works in the campus-wide advancement database system, documenting and managing stewardship data and plans in the system.

Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and program support to a group of individual giving fundraisers on the major gifts team in the Development and Alumni Relations division. This position is responsible for coordinating donor and program meetings, managing donor and gift information, preparing documents and presentations, preparing donor materials for meetings, assisting with donor follow-up, maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, monitoring budgets and expenses, and arranging travel. The Development Coordinator will collaborate with team members on special projects as they arise. The Development Coordinator will report to the Development Specialist – Administrative Team Lead and will work closely with staff members on the major gifts team, as well as with other campus partners.

Director of Development – Gift Planning

Reporting to the Executive Director of Gift Planning, the Director of Development – Gift Planning is responsible for securing planned gifts and/or blended gifts; i.e., a combination of annual, outright, revocable and irrevocable life income gifts. Primary responsibilities include the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of alumni, parents and friends, with particular attention to those capable of gifts of $100,000 or more. The Director of Development – Gift Planning values collaboration and partners in fundraising activities with a portfolio of school and regional major gift and annual gift officers. This person assists in providing technical expertise to development officers and university administrators. With oversight from the Executive Director of Gift Planning, the Director of Development – Gift Planning participates actively in the design and implementation of the gift planning marketing and communications. The Director of Development – Gift Planning mentors, coaches and participates in formal training of fellow development professionals and volunteers in blended and planned gift fundraising to further the fundraising and donor engagement goals of the organization.

Assistant Director, Philanthropy (Leadership Annual Giving)

Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the Individual Giving team in the Development and Alumni Relations division, the Assistant Director ensures prospective donors have a seamless experience—whether through joint visits, coordinated outreach, or referrals to other fundraisers. The Assistant Director will manage an evolving portfolio of philanthropic individuals and contribute to annual fundraising and donor engagement goals with success measured through qualifications, visits, commitments secured, and fundraising revenue, which grow as their portfolio matures.
